Tool Talk Wednesday!

Hey, Hey! I'm starting something today called "Tool Talk Wednesday"! It should be fun & on Wednesdays I'll feature a new tool that has changed my life...haha ok may not CHANGED my life. But a tool I really like!! Just a heads up-I may talk some of you into sharing your favorite tool too :)

Let's talk tools!

First, I am NOT a tool expert. I am not paid to promote tool companies. I have not received anything to give my opinion about their tool. I just think these tools are awesome and everyone should know about them. Okay-are we good? Good!

People ask me on a daily basis what tools they need to get started. I always say: Pocket-Hole Jig, Miter Saw & Drill.

So let's start off with the pocket-hole jig. Pocket-holes are a method of joinery aka "Pocket-hole Joinery" (you can thank me later :)). I use the Kreg Jig- and it's probably my favorite tool. If we've had a conversation in the past 6 months you've probably heard me talk about it.

Why is it my favorite?

-It's an incredibly strong method of joinery.

-It can make the average DIY'er a builder (I AM PROOF OF THIS!).

-It's super easy to use (there are LOTS of tutorials on YouTube).

-It's very affordable.

They have a few options you can choose from- starting at $19.97. I have the K-4 Pocket-Hole System-$99.00 (Amazon).

Helpful Hints!

-You have to buy Kreg Screws to use in the pocket-holes. The screws are located by the Kreg Tools in Home Depot & Lowe's (not by the other screws-this is helpful if you have screaming kids with you...just trust me).

-If you can bolt the Jig down I would recommend it (only some of the models you can do this). If you can't bolt it down-use a clamp to secure it in place.

Here is a video from Kreg Tools to give you more info! Please let me know if you have any questions!!! I'll try to help :) Now go get a Kreg Jig!
