Easy Home Office Desk
Hey, Friends! I just shared the fun & easy desk over at www.BuildSomething.com . Check it out here:
I wanted to give a few more details on the finishing of this project!
I did progressive sanding on the entire piece. Starting at 60 grits, 120 grits, 220 grits. I used cheap lumber- so oftentimes it takes a little more work to finish.
I used 3 coats Minwax's stain in "Weathered Oak". I distressed it slightly to get it a more "rustic" look (aka the look that looks best in a house full of small children :)). Followed up by sealing it with Minwax's finishing wax-3 coats, buffing between each coat. I highly recommend a polisher if you're going to use wax. I bought one at Harbor Freight for $17 & it works great. Here are few more pics of the finished product. I SO love the size & how it turned out.
I hope you LOVE it! You should build one :) then post it to social media using the #hardyhomereno! I can't wait to see yours!
